Getting To Know You : Anna Agoncillo, Psychology, Teacher, Writer, Singapore

August 13, 2014

Since I want to be different from the rest, my first blog will be an introduction of who I am (insert sarcasm sign, haha).
I consider myself as an enthusiastic, positive, organized and a hardworking person. I’ve been a consistent academic achiever ever since I was young. I graduated with B.Sc. honours in Psychological Studies under the Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. I’m currently residing in Singapore.

My interests include: Psychology, watching movies (from Romantic Comedy to Marvel series), reading , swimming, fashion, cooking (hoping I don’t burn the house anytime soon), and getting social (social networks, face-to-face interactions).

As I start this uncertain journey of blogging, I told myself that I shall only write about the things I am passionate about, and not be blinded by social limitations. I will mostly write on Psychological theories, and how it influences our behaviors or how it relates to our everyday lives.

Nowadays, Psychology is defined as the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Psychology has various schools of thoughts namely: Behaviorism, Cognitive, Humanism and so on. Furthermore, there are more branches such as Neuropsychology, Industrial Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology and Educational Psychology. Truly, psychology has been a part of our everyday lives (some might have not noticed it yet). As long as man is involved, Psychology will remain present.

Ultimately, human beings are innately social and curious with endless questions that seek answers. This is why I want to be able to share my fruitful learning and discoveries to everyone with no holds barred. And my new found weapon to achieve that---is by blogging.

I’m definitely having fun writing these posts. So whether you're a humanities student or a frustrated one, or someone who just wanders in the world wide web, and happened to stumble by my blog, I hope that you’ll enjoy reading it.

Your perspective might be in-lined or contrary with mine.
